For Science!

26 Apr
for-science

People who’ve known me for a while probably know that i’ve got a bit of a feminist streak. (For the record, i do not think either gender is superior; they’re different but equal, and deserve to be afforded equal respect. End of story.) Anyway, this is my small contribution to boobquake. A ridiculous statement deserves to be mocked by an equally ridiculous movement.

Done in SAI, with minor adjustments and text added in Photoshop. It’s styled after the vintage posters from the mid-20th Century.

Empty

Had no real clue what to draw today, so tried out a concept i’d had in mind for a long time. Not sure it turned out to my liking, but at least that’s one cleared from the idea pile!

Anarchy, from the Chaos webcomic-to-be. Sketched in SAI, tweaked and text added in Photoshop. The heart diagram and textures aren’t made by me.

Don’t mind me, I’m just passing through at the speed of light

Today (well, yesterday, but didn’t actually get to it since Sims 3 distracted me) i randomly had a mental image of a character in a certain pose, from an extreme angle, and wanted to see if i could pull it off.

i don’t particularly like drawing random characters, so decided to try drawing a modern-day version of Merc from the Chaos webcomic Mae and i plan to do eventually. Don’t think it really looks like him, though. If anything it ended up looking more like a young!Worth <<;; OTL.

i know it’s not very obvious from his outfit who he’s supposed to be, and it was deliberate since i thought shoes with wing designs or a cauduceus would be too anvilicious even for me. It’s only hinted at by the shopping bags at his feet, and the fact that he’s standing at crossroads (being that Mercury/Hermes is pretty much the god of transactions, boundaries and the patron of merchants, amongst other things).

Drawn in SAI, post-processed in Photoshop.

Edit: i updated the pic earlier, but it’s still showing the old one for me >> Might be my cache. Anyway, was just to add blue to the lines of the vest and to the tie. Also, i made a quick wallpaper version for my work comp: here.

Lady of the Air

lady-of-the-air

Started out as train sketch, just finished the rest of her (wings and swirls) today.

Mother of pearl texture from Nphyx. Thanks to Ann for giving me her opinions on my various “drafts” because I couldn’t decide which version of the Lady to post.

Like most of my other art, I don’t have anything in mind when I start drawing- she just developed the more I sketched.
