Haven’t done a speedpainting in a while. I was thinking about asian faces and how I can’t draw asian men. I then ended up with this guy Huang Xiao Ming (黄晓明) on my browser, and Zhi exclaimed, “Omg it’s him!” as she walked by behind me. Turns out she used to watch this tv series with him in it.
In any case, I wanted something quick to post for today. Here’s 1hr15mins of my life.

Face shape is kind of close I guess? I started this piece with trepidation… I think if I wanted to spend more time I could shape his face even closer to the actor.

Wah *__* It’s a really nice speedpaint! i might not have guessed it was a speedpaint if you hadn’t said it was one. His head should be angled down a little bit more and the tip of his nose lengthened ,to match the pic, but there’s a very clear likeness. Can’t stop staring at his ear o_o (Is a pretty ear <3)

Yeah, I keep wanting to retouch it except I ran out of time. I could freetime it when I feel like it though, to make the angle a closer match. I eyepicked 4 colours to work with (purple, base skin, hair, hair highlight). The browns I added were eye-matched.

Nice work for a speed paint! Defintely see the resemblence between yours and the original, I think you got the main features spot on.
