Today was the first time I had 2 cups of coffee in one day. Today was also the first time I drew a naked male model! If only these go into my xbox 360 as achievements. Cut for you know why.
Today’s model was Fareed. He had hair like Chris Martin (in colour and style), and that kind of hair was really difficult to draw. His face was interesting too, but I wasn’t able to capture it well.
I can’t begin to describe how awesome the feel of the moleskine sketchbook is. The pages are smooth, almost gloss-like to the touch. I never felt like I needed to press hard onto the paper, and even if I did, it didn’t look like I left much impression on it. It has a price tag of $20AUD ($15.95AUD direct from the States, and an additional $3.50 for shipping per book). It would have cost RRP$30 here in art stores, which is absolutely crass for the amount of money I need to spend just to put in fugly scrawls.
Anyway, I did about 8 pages of sketches before deciding that I can’t draw any more in this sketchbook until I get more awesome. Which is totally, not awesome. Managed to persuade William to go with me to the Arthouse Hotel today and he dragged his sister along too. It was fun! I think Chuc and Paul came later, but there were seats after the intermission.

Did more of a close-up on Maehem. I was planning a quick digital colouring session but I’m just too lazy to work the tablet. Maehem’s hair will constantly change, because she’s that bored. Or maybe it’s to get rid of her blood-stained locks? Who knows.
I did her fingers a little short on this one- they should’ve arched a little more in that pose. I should’ve used reference, but as most of my drawings go- I don’t do that enough.
Man nudity ahead. There will always be nudity in this art blog, so I can assure you that there’s always bound to be content NSFW. Not like I can draw full nudity- or want to for the matter. D: I’m practising drawing the male anatomy- particularly more toned bodies as opposed to my usually skinnier and lankier boys who don’t work out. This guy is still kind of lean, can’t help it if it’s up my alley. ;P I’m not sure I want to put myself through drawing men who play Australian rugby or footy for that matter. D:
